The GEDA Spring Workshop Committee worked hard to put together a fabulous conference for 2015 with a theme of “Together Towards Tomorrow.” Breakout sessions on the first day were on basics such as how to make the most out of GEDA membership, completing a perfect request for a proposal, open records/confidentiality laws, and understanding the bond process. 2015 GEDA Spring Workshop at The Lodge & Spa
at Callaway Gardens
The GEDA 2015 Spring Workshop at The Lodge and Spa at beautiful Callaway Gardens was a tremendous success with more than 225 participants. We enjoyed spectacular weather for the opening outdoor station party reception where our members were able to engage with Olive, a Barred Owl from the Callaway Gardens "Birds of Prey" program. KIA and Powertech, in nearby West Point, opened their plants for our members to tour the pristine and highly efficient manufacturing facilities. Another group of members received a personal, guided tour of Franklin D. Roosevelt's Little White House and Museum following a delicious Southern lunch at the Bulloch House. The GEDA Sport Shooting Club reveled in an afternoon of clay shooting at the Big Red Oak Plantation. Finally, more than 40 golfers played the picturesque Lakeview Course at Callaway Gardens.
Big thank you to the 2015 Spring Workshop Committee led by Chair Missy Kendrick: Brad Campbell, Kyle Fletcher, April Pruitt, Chris Pumphrey, Kevin Johnson, Jane Fryer, EJane Caraway, Niki Vanderslice, and Keith Ziobron.

The April GEDA luncheon meeting featured three of our newest Georgia State Commissioners who shared their views with our members; Camila Knowles at Community Affairs, Lynne Riley at Revenue, and Russell McMurry at Transportation. Each of these Commissioners expressed interest in hearing from GEDA members on relevant issues. The program was sponsored by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. .
