Legacy of
Excellence
September
has always seemed like a transition month to me in that it is the end
of Summer and Fall is about to arrive with the glorious colors of the
changing leaves. We also begin to watch carefully for the
hurricane season while looking forward to the holiday season beginning
with Labor Day, Patriot Day, Yom Kippur, and Halloween. It is a
time of transition within GEDA as well as we nominate those who have
gone above and beyond this year in their service to GEDA and/or their
community. The new leadership for the next year is identified and
board and committee positions are filled. Finally, September is
the month of the Annual Conference, and this year we will be hearing
from the gubernatorial candidates who hope to transition into the
Governor’s mansion.
Chris Pumphrey has worked hard to bring us an Annual Conference with a
“Legacy of Excellence” theme. All of the speakers and content are
designed to showcase Georgia and our many successes and how we intend
to continue as the best state in which to do business. I hope
that you are all planning to join us in Savannah – at the Westin this
year – as we begin to wrap up the year. You can register by
clicking here.
I want to remind you that the best way to get involved with GEDA is as
a committee member and we especially want our new members to join a
committee and engage in our activities. We want to continue our
own GEDA “Legacy of Excellence” as the best statewide economic
development organization in the country!
